site selection for groundwater artificial recharge in silakhor rangelands using gis technique
Authors
abstract
groundwater is among the most important resources of drinking water supply ofthe worldwide population. use of recharge area is one of the methods for artificiallyrecharging groundwater. selection of suitable sites for artificial recharge is very importantand must be carried out accurately. there are different types of land use, only rangelandsare appropriate for artificial recharge because of their topographical situations. in thisstudy, the groundwater artificial recharge suitable area of silakhor, borujerd of iranrangelands was investigated and extracted using geographic information system (gis) andanalytic hierarchy process (ahp) method. the layer information of rainfall, soil, lithology, slope, land use and fault components were prepared and weighed by applyingahp method and were used for artificial recharge site selection. aquifer artificial rechargemaps showed that in silakhor catchment 14%, 64.8% and 21.2% of the area of thecatchment had high, moderate and low capability for artificial recharge, respectively. themost suitable areas were located in the low land areas.

full textapplication of fuzzy logic in site selection of artificial groundwater recharge using integrated method of ahp and ftopsis
the success of artificial recharge schemes requires the identification of suitable site. the use of fuzzy set theory in site selection projects allows the decision-makers to incorporate unquantifiable information into decision model. in this paper, site selection of artificial groundwater recharges using an integrated method of fuzzy topsis and ahp has been done in raster environment of gis. th...

Wastewater can be regarded as a valuable resource that can be re used in various ways, creating more sustainable societies which can benefit both human communities and the environment. An issue when using reclaimed water is the potential presence of health hazards such as microbial pathogens. The presence of pathogens can often impact on the type of water reclamation project selected. Artifici...
full textLocating Suitable Areas for Groundwater Recharge Using GIS and WLC (Qorveh Plain in Kurdistan Province)
In recent decades, the ever-increasing population, human needs, and changes in the consumption patterns of societies require the planning and management of water resources more than ever. Among the management strategies of underground water resources, we can point out the compensation of these resources through artificial nutrition and exploitation according to the capacity of aquifers. The stu...
full textFuzzy C-Means Clustering Algorithm for Site Selection of Groundwater Artificial Recharge Areas (Case Study: Sefied Dasht Plain)
Artificial recharge can be an effective method to raise the groundwater table and to resolve the groundwater crisis in Sefid dasht plain. The most important step to successful accomplishment of artificial recharge is locating suitable areas for artificial recharge. Hence this research carried out with purpose of determining suitable areas for artificial recharge in Sefid dasht plain. Slope, sur...
full textArtificial recharge of groundwater: hydrogeology and engineering
Artificial recharge of groundwater is achieved by putting surface water in basins. furrows, ditches, or other facilities where it infiltrates into the soil and moves downward to recharge aquifers. Artificial recharge is increasingly used for shortor long-term underground storage. where it has several advantages over surface storage, and in water reuse. Artificial recharge requires permeable sur...
